Get out your costumes and mark your calendars – it’s time to get spooky in Bellingham and Whatcom County! Activities take place throughout the month of October leading up to Halloween, Oct. 31, which is a Friday this year. Here’s a list to satisfy everyone from families to college students to the curious spirits among us. Stay safe, and have fun!
"Art by the Airport" – Whatcom Art Guild celebrates its 50th anniversary at its annual fall show and sale of fine art and crafts at Hampton Inn's Fox Hall, 3985 Bennett Drive, Bellingham. The show opens Friday, November 7 at 2pm, with an opening reception at 6pm and silent auction to benefit local art students from 5-7 pm. The show continues on Saturday andSunday November 8 and 9, 10 am-5 pm with demonstrations, a raffle of members’ donated art to fund art equipment for children in St Joe’s Hospital, and live music provided by the Bellingham High School music students. The show will feature the work of over 45 well-known local artists working in many mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, collage, pastels, ceramics, jewelry, wood, glass, and fiber arts. Browse for fine art originals, affordable prints, hand-crafted fabrics, pottery, jewelry, garden art and more one-of-a-kind items handmade by community artists.
