Mount Baker Experience magazine earned two awards from the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association's 2014 state-wide contest.

Blaine, Washington - Judges at the WNPA awards praised the Winter 2014 edition of Mount Baker Experience for its engaging content, awarding the issue second place in the Lifestyles/Culture category of the Better Newspaper Contest. Mount Baker Experience is a quarterly special publication of The Northern Light newspaper, featuring outdoor adventures in the Pacific Northwest.

"Engaging content is exactly what we try to achieve with each issue," co-publisher Pat Grubb said. "I'm really proud of the efforts of editor Ian Ferguson and graphic designer Doug De Visser. This award also recognizes the quality of our contributors, such as photographers Grant Gunderson and Jason Hummel, and writers Jason Martin and Molly Baker."

Mount Baker Experience was also recognized for its website, winning second place overall (our sister publication Pacific Coast Weddings won first place).

Mountbakerexperience.com features each issue's content as well as blog posts, an events calendar, dining/lodging guide and helpful information about the Mt. Baker region.
